The palate is rich, dense and structured yet bright and fresh with a very long finish. This is sure to be a classic St George in its modern incarnation.
St George is distinctive in the Coonawarra region, as much for the vineyard and its deep even depth bright red terra rossa soil, as it is for the wine itself.
Structurally different to most other Coonawarra Cabernets with an angular tannin structure that grips the fruit firmly as a young wine only to relax the tension and reveal the depth and complexity of the fruit a few years later.
The 2018 St George has deep red colour with complex dark berry fruit aromas, black olive, tobacco leaf and a vineyard specific subtle earthy note. The palate is rich, dense and structured yet bright and fresh with a very long finish.
